Located on an exposed corner, this lot called for a residence protected visually and acoustically from the street, and opens towards an enclosed landscape deep within. This home features a central living space with gallery, flanked by a row of private rooms. The exterior is framed with a serene, yet durable cement board panel facade. The entry is made through a hidden, walled-in exterior courtyard. The square building is defined by nine 24 ft. x 24 ft. grids, with rigorous 8 ft. modules within. It is that pattern that extends into, and guides, the structure’s surroundings.
